On January 1st, we joined even more crowds of Japanese to visit the important shrines and temples within the first week of the new year.
We took a mini train about 20 minutes from Kyoto and explored the forested town of Kibune. Then, we crossed this little orange bridge and hiked up and over the mountain for about an hour and down into the town of Kuruma.
